Sales Analyst, Publishing 

 

Gearbox Publishing is currently seeking an experienced Sales Analyst to join our team.  The right candidate will be a self-motivated industry expert with outstanding analytical and communication skills, understanding all aspects of data analysis, from ingestion, cleaning, model-building, visualizing, and communicating results to management and related teams.  The role will work closely with the Sales, Marketing, BD, and Publishing teams to understand performance of our existing portfolio, as well as identifying industry and category trends, and new project analysis. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop tools and dashboards for internal sales reporting, as well as external reporting to partners 
  • Identify and communicate emerging industry trends  
  • Determine sales potential for products and make recommendations to the marketing and sales teams 
  • Provide detailed pricing and promotion analysis and recommendations 
  • Develop, track and report Sales and Marketing KPI’s 
  • Track marketing spends across various products to analyze and report ROI  
  • Monitor pre-release data to inform demand planning, sales, and marketing efforts 
  • Maintain/create reporting processes that implement best practices across the organization 
  • Manage and deliver complex analytical requests from Publishing stakeholders 
  • Build ad hoc reports and analyses for various internal Publishing teams 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, marketing, data science or finance preferred 
  • 1-3 years working as an analyst 
  • Experience building clear, user-friendly data visualizations, tables, and dashboards 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software 
  • Advanced problem-solving and analysis skills 
  • Superior oral and written communication skills 
  • Detail oriented and highly organized 
  • Strong research and data analysis skills 
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative on projects 
  • Ability to work independently and with initiative. 

 

Bonus Qualifications 

 

  • Passionate Gamer 
  • Experience in games, software, or entertainment industries 
  • High proficiency in SQL 
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (R, Python) 
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (Tableau)
